Katie Haymaker is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Villanova University and the Director of the Main Line Math Circle. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she specialized in coding theory. Katie has led math circles for students and teachers in the Philadelphia region. She has also taught in summer programs for high school students, and co-founded the DREAMS Program at Villanova to support students exploring graduate study in mathematics. Her work has been recognized by the Mathematical Association of America's Carl B. Allendoerfer Award for expository writing and the MAA Dolciani Mathematics Enrichment Grant for the Main Line Math Circle.
Bill Hawkins is a mathematics educator with two decades of teaching experience at Lower Merion High School. He holds a degree in mathematics from Lafayette College and a Master’s degree in curriculum from Saint Joseph's University. In addition to teaching a wide range of high school mathematics courses, Bill has served as faculty advisor for the math club and climbing club, fostering both intellectual curiosity and teamwork among his students.
As co-founder and director of the Main Line Math Circle, Bill is committed to providing middle school students with enriching opportunities to explore mathematics in a collaborative, inquiry-driven environment.
